2025 Main Gallery Open Call for Proposals
Location: Little River, Miami, FL

This open call is open to visual artists, collectives, and artist collaborations working in any medium at any stage in their career. Artists must propose new, installation-based work created specifically for Locust Projects' Main Gallery. Current MFA students are not eligible. Projects should push the artist's practice in new directions and demonstrate risk-taking and experimentation.
Application Fee: None
What’s Provided:
$10,000 project budget (may include production, fabrication, materials, labor, etc.)
$5,000 artist fee
$60 per diem stipend (up to 21 days)
Up to $600 for round-trip travel (for artists living 150+ miles away)
Private accommodation in the Locust Projects Residency
Access to existing tools and AV equipment, up to 32 hours of preparator assistance
Exhibition signage, installation documentation, and promotional support
Curatorial guidance throughout the project
What the Artist Must Cover:
Artists will need to cover any costs beyond those supported by the provided budget, including additional travel expenses. Any costs exceeding the provided project budget must be included within the budget itself.
Duration:
The selected projects will be realized for exhibitions scheduled in 2027 and 2028. Residencies and production time may vary depending on the specific project needs.

Proposals will be reviewed in two stages:
Feasibility, extension of practice, and professional experience
Conceptual strength, ambition, relevance, and impact on the contemporary art community.
Locust Projects prioritizes projects that involve large-scale, installation-based work that transforms the gallery space, with a required public program or activation. Submissions must include a project description, artist statement, bio, project budget, and any supporting visuals.
