2026 Lucie Scholarship Program

Open to
Professional and emerging photographers aged 18 and older, worldwide.

Professional photographers are defined as those who earn the majority of their income from photography. Emerging photographers are defined as those enrolled as students, in the first five years of their photography career, or who do not earn the majority of their income from photography.

Application Fee

  • Professional: $25 per submission

  • Emerging: $15 per submission

What’s Provided
The program offers four cash scholarships:

  • Fine Art – Professional: $3,000 cash prize

  • Fine Art – Emerging: $1,000 cash prize

  • Photojournalism/Documentary – Professional: $3,000 cash prize

  • Photojournalism/Documentary – Emerging: $1,000 cash prize + Sony camera and lens

Winners will be part of a group exhibition that will travel to House of Lucie galleries worldwide, including Los Angeles, Athens, Budapest, Ostuni, and Samui.

What the Artist/Applicant Must Cover
Applicants must submit:

  • A project proposal of up to 1,500 characters

  • Project start and end dates

  • A description of the project

  • A plan for completing the project and using the scholarship money

  • Five project goals

  • A one-page biography and/or CV

  • Twenty digital images

Online submissions only. Images must be JPG files, 72 DPI, with no file exceeding 4 MB.

Additional Notes
Applicants may submit as many applications as they wish. The same project may also be submitted to two different scholarship categories if appropriate.

Finalists and winners will be announced in October 2026; the exact date is to be determined.

The photographer must be the sole author and copyright owner of submitted photographs. Copyright and other rights remain with the photographer, and photographs used by the Lucie Foundation will carry the photographer’s credit line.
