Early-career visual artists who live in one of New York City's five boroughs at the time of application and throughout the residency. Applicants must not be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the residency.

What the Artist Must Cover

  • Residency participation and regular studio engagement

  • Monthly mentor meetings

  • Quarterly cohort meetings

  • Attendance at required residency programs and public engagement activities

Essential Notes

  • Three artists will be selected for the 2027–2028 cohort.

  • The residency concludes with a group exhibition at Abrons Arts Center.

  • Studio spaces are open-plan; work that generates strong fumes cannot be accommodated.
