ALTERLIFE 2026 Residency – Rupert & Sonic Acts
Location
Rupert (Vilnius, Lithuania) and Sonic Acts (Amsterdam, Netherlands)
Open To
Artists and duos based in the EU and eligible Creative Europe countries. Open to interdisciplinary practices, particularly those incorporating sound, video, installation, and critical or speculative research. Practices that engage deeply with climate, historical, or political themes are encouraged.

What’s Provided
Residency: A combined 3-month residency — Rupert (April–May 2026) and Sonic Acts (November 2026)
Stipend: €3,800 total for the residency period
Travel Support: Up to €400 per location (€800 total)
Production Budget: €7,000 total (€2,000 for Vilnius, €5,000 for Amsterdam presentations)
Accommodation & Studio Space: Provided in both locations (Rupert: live-in studio; Sonic Acts: accommodation arranged)
Exhibition Opportunities:
Research presentations in Vilnius and Amsterdam (2026)
Final exhibition at Rupert (2026/2027)
Sonic Acts Biennial (2028)
Professional & Technical Support: Access to Sonic Acts’ high-end studios and mentorship at both institutions
Visibility: Featured on Sonic Acts and Rupert platforms, feedback and networking support, help with funding applications

Personal materials or production costs beyond provided stipends and budgets

Rupert: April–May 2026
Sonic Acts: November 2026
Exhibitions: Late 2026–2028

Feasible sample production budget aligned with €2,000 and €5,000 allocations for Vilnius and Amsterdam, respectively
Selection Process
Interviews: 15–19 September 2025
Notification by: October 1, 2025
Selection panel includes curators from both organisations and external jury members
