Artists, artist collectives, and collaborative groups aged 19 or older who maintain residence within the eligible Omaha/Council Bluffs Metro Area (specified counties in Nebraska and Iowa). Formal education is not required.

What’s Provided

  • $10,000 in project support

  • Individualized mentorship from arts professionals

  • Critical feedback within a small cohort

  • Cohort meetings and professional development throughout the fellowship

  • Support for public-facing, project-based work including installations, publications, films, performances, and other civic engagement projects

What the Artist Must Cover

  • Submission of a complete application, including Artist Statement, Project Description, Project Budget, Work Sample, and Works Cited

  • Responsible management of the project budget and project logistics during the fellowship

12 months (January 2027 – January 2028)

Essential Notes

  • Up to three fellows will be selected.

  • The 2027 theme is Migration, broadly interpreted to include the movement of people, ideas, languages, labor, waterways, seeds, species, capital, and culture.

  • Projects should result in a public outcome and are encouraged to include community participation or public engagement.
