Camargo Fellowship 2026–2027

Artists, scholars, and thinkers from around the world.

  • Artists: Minimum 5 years of professional practice with a demonstrated public track record.

  • Scholars: Arts and humanities researchers focused on French, Francophone, or Mediterranean cultures; PhD holders or PhD candidates in the final stage of research.

  • Thinkers: Professionals such as curators, journalists, critics, urban planners, and independent researchers engaged in critical cultural practice.

What’s Provided

  • 10-week residency at the Camargo Foundation

  • Furnished apartment with kitchen

  • Stipend of €350 per week (€3,500 total)

  • Basic transportation support to and from Cassis

  • Access to shared facilities including studios, library, music/conference spaces, and communal work environments

What the Applicant Must Cover

  • Shipping of artworks, materials, and production costs (for visual artists)

  • Any expenses beyond the fellowship’s stipend and basic travel support

Duration

10 weeks

  • Fall 2026: 8 September – 17 November 2026

  • Spring 2027: 24 February – 5 May 2027

Notes

  • The fellowship supports 14 fellows annually (7 artists and 7 scholars/thinkers).

  • Individual applicants and collaborative teams of up to three members are eligible to apply.
