Can Serrat Rolling Residency

Location: Masia Can Serrat, C/Parroquia s/n, El Bruc, Barcelona, Spain 08294

Open to: Individuals, duos, and collectives from various disciplines, at all stages of their practice. Applications accepted in Catalan, Spanish, French, or English.

What’s Provided:

  • Residency duration from 2 weeks to 2 months during 2025, depending on availability

  • Shared studio space

  • Accommodation options:

    • Shared bedroom (€908.10/month with partial scholarship)

    • Private bedroom (€1,435.50/month with partial scholarship)

    • Studio only, no accommodation (€234.50/month with partial scholarship)

  • Access to common spaces, equipment, organized activities, human and technical resources

  • Connections with local territory and communication through Can Serrat networks

  • Publication of projects in the digital catalog

  • Twice-weekly prepared dinners and some snacks during activities

What the artist/applicant must cover:

  • Residency fee depending on accommodation option chosen

  • Food outside of organized dinners (Can Serrat does not provide food except the specified dinners/snacks)

Duration: 2 weeks to 2 months, rolling residency with monthly application review

Deadline: Rolling applications; selections announced at the beginning of each month

Application Procedure:

  • Fill out the Google form with details

  • Submit a PDF (“Lastname_name_OGCall”) including:

    • For visual artists: video (max 3 min) or series of images (max 10) or voice memo (max 3 min)

    • For writing projects: one-page writing sample and voice note (max 3 min)

    • Project summary (250 words)

    • Link to website (if applicable) embedded in PDF

  • No CV or artist statement required

Other Notes:

  • Applications accepted only in Catalan, Spanish, French, or English

  • Jury includes Sophie Blais (Director) and Ely Daou (Resident Artist)

  • Partial scholarships funded by Generalitat de Catalunya, subject to availability
