DUPLEX AIR – Satellite Residency Open Call

Open to
Artists who have a studio in Lisbon or nearby with easy access by public transport. Applications from curators, cultural programmers, and other professionals in the cultural field may also be accepted. The working language is English.

No application fee is stated.

What's Provided

  • Participation in the DUPLEX residency programme without using a studio at DUPLEX.

  • Approximately 6–7 programme activities per month, including portfolio presentations, artist studio visits, gallery visits, peer discussions, and project follow-up.

  • Visits to the participant's own studio as part of the programme.

What the Artist/Applicant Must Cover

  • Residency participation fee: €300 per month (€400/month for duo participants).

  • Applicants must already have their own studio in or near Lisbon.

  • Open Studios events and exhibitions are not included in the Satellite Residency programme.

Duration
One or more full months (4-week periods). Available residency periods run from January–July and September–November. Applicants select their preferred month(s).

Deadline
Ongoing Open Call. Applicants are encouraged to apply at least 2 months before their desired residency period. Results are communicated within 2 weeks after application.

Additional Notes

  • Application must include: Portfolio (max. 15 pages), CV, one-page project proposal, preferred residency month(s), any periods of unavailability, and the general location of the applicant's studio.

  • Applications must be submitted as a single PDF via email.

  • Active participation in all residency activities is expected.
