Face to Face – A Union Street Gallery Portrait Show

Open to
Artists submitting portrait works that take a traditional approach or challenge traditional portraiture. Solo and collaborative works are accepted. Union Street Gallery can accommodate both 2-D and 3-D artworks.

Application Fee
$25 (nonrefundable and nontransferable)

What’s Provided

  • Inclusion in a juried group exhibition

  • Opportunity to sell artwork during the exhibition

  • Eligibility for awards:

    • First Place: $300

    • Second Place: $150

    • Third Place: $75

    • Two Honorable Mentions

  • Gallery handles all sales transactions during the exhibition

What the Artist Must Cover

  • Shipping costs to and from Union Street Gallery

  • Insurance during shipping and exhibition

  • Framing, hanging hardware, and any special display materials

  • A prepaid return shipping label for shipped work

  • Chicago Heights, Illinois 10% sales tax on sold work

  • Gallery commission of 30% on all artwork sales

Exhibition Dates: January 22 – February 28, 2026

Submission Deadline: January 8, 2026 (11:59 pm CST)

Additional Notes

  • Artists may submit 1–5 works; a maximum of 3 works per artist may be exhibited

  • No size restrictions

  • Accepted work must arrive between January 8 and January 15, 2026

  • Artwork must be ready to hang or display upon arrival

  • Union Street Gallery does not insure exhibited artwork

  • Sold works must remain on view for the full duration of the exhibition

  • By submitting, artists grant permission for promotional use of accepted images while retaining copyright

  • Submission fees support Union Street Gallery, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
