Artists and creatives from any background, ideally with experience in printmaking or a willingness to expand print practice through interdisciplinary and experimental approaches.
Application Fee
€30, payable online before submitting application materials.
What’s Provided
Two-week funded production residency at the Gate44 workshop between April 2026 and April 2027 (dates arranged with the selected artist).
€1,000 materials budget.
Technical assistance from skilled print technicians.
Private on-site apartment with kitchen, bathroom, and courtyard for the residency duration.
24/7 access to a state-of-the-art print studio with facilities for relief printing, intaglio, photolithography, photopolymer, screen printing, letterpress, and digital fine art.
Basic print-shop materials and tools.
Social media coverage and feature on Gate44’s website.
What the Artist Must Cover
Production expenses exceeding the €1,000 budget.
External production processes not included in Gate44’s services.
Travel to/from Milan and food during residency.

Two weeks, scheduled between April 2026 and April 2027 in coordination with Gate44.

Application Requirements
Applicants must:
Pay the application fee and include the receipt with their submission.
Submit a PDF project proposal (max 12 MB) describing planned work, techniques, and formats.
Attach a portfolio PDF (max 12 MB) with recent works, artist statement, bio, and contact details.
Provide personal details (name, nationality, residence, birth date) and preferred residency period.
Selection Criteria and Notes
Selections focus on originality, technical and conceptual innovation, and the ability to use residency resources effectively. Applicants must be able to travel to Milan and adhere to professional conduct during the residency.
