GCB2026 International Competition

Location: Gyeonggi Museum of Contemporary Ceramic Art, Korea

Open to: Ceramic artists from around the world who hold both the copyright and ownership of their submitted artworks. Individual or team entries accepted (up to two works per entrant). Artworks must be original, created on or after January 1, 2023, and primarily use clay (ceramics) as the main material or theme.

What’s Provided:

  • Exhibition of selected works during the Gyeonggi Ceramics Biennale (September 2026–February 2027)

  • Awards including:

    • Grand Prize: KRW 60 million (includes acquisition costs and taxes)

    • Excellence Prize: 9 awards of KRW 10 million each

    • Traditional Prize: 4 awards (non-monetary)

    • GCB Prize: Approx. 46 awards (non-monetary)

  • Trophy, certificate, and catalog inclusion for all awardees

  • Return shipping of artworks after the exhibition

What the Artist Must Cover:

  • Cost of shipping artworks to the venue for second-round judging

  • Packaging and insurance during transit (insurance by organizers begins upon arrival and inspection)

  • Customs documentation for international shipments

Duration: Exhibition runs from September 2026 to February 2027 (tentative).

Deadline: February 12, 2026, 12:00 PM (KST)

Submission: Online at www.gcbcompetition.kr (first-round); physical artwork submission in June 2026 for selected artists.

Notes:

  • No artworks previously awarded in other competitions are eligible.

  • The Korea Ceramic Foundation will cover display setup, repacking, and return shipping.
