HAF Work-in-Progress (WIP)

Open To
Producers and directors (or authorised copyright holders) of full-length (60+ min) fictional or animated feature film projects that are in production or post-production.
Application Fee
HK$800 via MYSELLPAY (credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, etc.)
Or HK$800 + HK$300 bank charge (telegraphic transfer)
What’s Provided
Opportunity to pitch your project in a 10-minute session (including up to 5 min of film footage) + 5-minute Q&A with industry guests (investors, sales agents, festival programmers, etc.)
Private one-on-one meetings arranged with attendees
Exposure and networking through the HAF Project Market
For up to five selected projects: inclusion in the “HAF Goes to Cannes” programme, with a screening at the Cannes Marché du Film and added media exposure
For non–Hong Kong based selected teams: travel and accommodation for one representative (from the country of residence) to attend industry events in Hong Kong.
What the Applicant Must Cover
All application materials: online form, video clips, script, budget, etc.
If selected: at least one representative must attend all required meetings and events in Hong Kong.
If paying via bank transfer: transaction fees + notification email to HAF.

Not explicitly stated for a “residency” — this is a financing / pitching market. However, the submission window is 3 November – 15 December 2025.

Other Essential Notes
Applicants must be the copyright owner or authorised representative.
Required materials include: one-sentence and full synopsis (in English & Chinese), director and producer bios/filmographies, company profile, budget plan, a 10-min video clip (up to three links), full script, and for animation: storyboard / visual reference / character design.
For animation projects: at least 75% of runtime must consist of animated character performance / movement.
Application materials must remain available online at least until 31 March 2026.
Confidentiality: submitted materials will only be used for selection by HKIFFS and its designated personnel; not returned.
Selected non-Hong Kong project teams will receive travel and hotel arrangements; at least one team rep must attend.
Decisions will be communicated by early January 2026.
