Hands-on Residency – Building Mythologies
Location
Online programme; final exhibition hosted by Siegfried Contemporary, 16 Bassett Road, London, W10 6JJ, UK.
Open to
Contemporary artists and designers. Five artists will be selected.
Applications are reviewed based on the relevance, quality, and feasibility of the proposed project.
Application Fee
£30 GBP application fee.
Selected participants must pay a £150 GBP participation fee. The participation fee can be split into instalments upon prior agreement.
The application fee is non-refundable.
What’s Provided
Six-week online residency programme from 21 September to 1 November 2026.
Critical reflection, collective discussion, and cultural exchange.
Sessions with invited artists, curators, writers, critics, and other professionals.
Access to an international network of peers and professionals.
Final group exhibition in London in November 2026.
Each artist will be featured in the Hands-on Journal, including an interview about their practice and residency project.
What the Artist/Applicant Must Cover
£30 GBP application fee.
£150 GBP participation fee if selected.
Transportation of artworks is not included.
Participants are required to produce a minimum of three works by 1 November 2026 for presentation in the final exhibition.
Artists must be available for an online studio visit during the residency.
Attendance is highly required.

The fifth edition of the residency is centred on Building Mythologies, exploring stories, personal histories, ancestral knowledge, folklore, ritual traditions, narratives, images, and symbols in contemporary cultural contexts.
