Artists, designers, and creative practitioners (visual arts, literary, music, dance, performance, media arts, etc.), 18+ years old, who are not currently enrolled in an institutional study programme. International applicants must already hold a valid U.S. visa.

What’s Provided
Semi-private studio workspace for two months per residency session, including basic overhead lighting, electricity, tables and chairs.
Professional development including group sharing, peer critique, public open-studio events during the residency.
Public exposure: participation in open studios, and promotional support via NYLAAT / PTM Contemporary website, newsletters, and social media.
Final exhibition / open-studio at end of residency session, showcasing works produced during residency.
What the Artist Must Cover
Their own art materials and tools, including transport of these. Studios lack medium- or technique-specific amenities (no print-shop, woodshop, media-lab, large rehearsal space).
Living costs, lodging, travel, visas (organizers do not provide stipend, accommodation, or travel support).

Residency sessions of two months each. Three possible sessions in 2026:

July 4 – August 30

Other Essential Notes
Applicants accepted in the 2025 residency program are not eligible to apply for 2026.
Selected residents must commit to working at least 20 hours per week (Fri–Sun) during public hours (schedule agreed with PTM Contemporary) and to present a work-in-progress culminating event at the end.
Studios are located in historic houses built around 1900; spaces are delivered “as-is,” with limited electricity, no running water, heating or cooling; restrooms and drinking fountains are a short walk away.
