Outhouse 2026 – Exhibitions Open Call

Open To
Emerging and established artists, solo exhibitors or groups. Especially welcoming applications from local artists, the global majority, queer creatives, underrepresented voices, and artists who would benefit from affordable, accessible exhibition space. Open to artists with or without previous exhibition experience.
Application Fee
Solo show: £150 + £50 refundable deposit
Group show: £200 + £50 refundable deposit
Winter (Jan–Feb) reduced fee: £100 solo / £150 group (+ £50 deposit)
What’s Provided
3-week self-curated exhibition slot
Support with Friday invigilation (artist responsible otherwise)
Free-to-attend public opening event (Thurs evening)
Opportunity to host workshops/talks/events at no extra cost (artist keeps all ticket revenue)
Possibility of ‘by appointment’ viewing openings
Gallery retains 35% commission on any sales
What the Artist Must Cover
Application fee
Artwork transport, installation, deinstallation
Curation, writing of exhibition text, and all promotional materials
Full invigilation during opening hours (except Fridays, which can be covered in part)
Duration
Each exhibition runs for 3 weeks, following this schedule:
Week 1: Tue–Thu install | Thu night opening | Fri–Sun open
Weeks 2 & 3: Fri–Sun open
Deinstall: Sun–Mon (Week 3)

Additional Notes
Winter (Jan–Feb): Window-viewable or light-based installations preferred due to low temps. Reduced booking fees apply.
Summer (May–Sept): Outdoor-focused programming encouraged (e.g. workshops in the park, public engagement).
Spring/Autumn: Flexible for all exhibition types.
Gallery may host parallel events Mon–Thurs—these will be communicated in advance and coordinated to align with the exhibition.
