PLAYGROUND DETROIT Emerging Artist Fellowship 2025

Location: Detroit, Michigan (Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne Counties)

Open To:
Emerging artists aged 18 or older who are legal residents of Macomb, Oakland, or Wayne County. Applicants must have resided in one of these counties for at least one year before November 2, 2025, and plan to remain throughout the fellowship year. Students are not eligible. The fellowship prioritizes applications from BIPOC and LGBTQ+ artists.

What’s Provided:

• $5,000 stipend for each of three selected artists

• Solo exhibition of a new body of artwork

• Professional mentorship and industry experience

• Participation in community programming

Additional Information:
Applicants must provide an artist statement, biography, CV, website and/or social media links, and images of previous work (with title, medium, year, and price). A brief description of a proposed solo exhibition is required.
