Powerhouse Arts Artist in Residence (AiR)
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Open to:
Emerging to mid-career artists who are New York City-based and 18+. Artists must not be enrolled in a degree program or currently in another residency or under gallery representation between October–December 2025. The program prioritizes artists from historically underrepresented backgrounds: Black, Indigenous, artists of color, LGBTQIA+, disabled, and low-income communities.

What’s Provided:
$10,000 artist honorarium
$5,000 materials stipend
Access to state-of-the-art fabrication shops: Print, Digital Print Lab, Ceramics, Public Art, Alpha Workshops (textiles), and MGC Community Print Studio
Communal studio space at Powerhouse Arts
Professional development, critiques, and mentorship
Access to free materials via Materials for the Arts (MFTA)

What the Artist Must Cover:
Artists must commit a minimum of 20 hours/week on site, document their process, participate in at least one public program, and provide an evaluation at the end of the residency.
Duration: 3 months (October to December 2025)

Notes:
Applicants may apply to work in up to two fabrication shops. Applications must include a statement of intent, project proposal, list of materials, and up to 10 images (5 past work, 5 project-related). Optional: CV and financial need statement.
