Printed Matter Publisher Work Grant 2026

Open to: Independent artists' book publishers worldwide. Applicants must have an active publishing imprint with at least one year of publishing history and a record of releasing one or more titles per year. International publishers are encouraged to apply.

What's Provided:
Three unrestricted grants of $10,000 USD
Capacity-building funding for future publishing projects and long-term sustainability
A featured exhibitor presence at a future Printed Matter New York or Los Angeles Art Book Fair
Complimentary exhibitor booth at the selected fair
What the Applicant Must Cover: If participating in the Art Book Fair, the grantee is responsible for travel and accommodation costs. The exhibitor table is provided free of charge.

Essential Notes:
The grant is unrestricted and may be used for production, artist fees, studio costs, equipment, rent, staffing, or other operational needs.
Artists applying solely to fund their own book project are not eligible unless they also operate an active publishing imprint that publishes the work of others.
Previous recipients of the Printed Matter Publisher Work Grant are not eligible to apply again.
Awardees will be selected by Printed Matter and a guest jury based on past publishing work, upcoming projects, and the potential impact of the grant.
