What’s Provided
Three types of funding are available:
Scholarships: Up to £18,000 for traditional college courses or tailored training
Emerging Maker Grants: Up to £10,000 for makers at the start of their careers
Apprenticeships: Up to £12,000 towards the salary of an apprentice
All successful Scholars receive a place on the Cockpit Studios Professional Development Programme

QEST defines craft as the skilled making, by hand, of tangible objects, or their conservation/restoration. Since 1990, QEST has awarded £7.2 million to nearly 900 craftspeople working in over 130 craft disciplines. In 2025, QEST celebrates 35 years of impact.
