What’s Provided
Use of local artist studios from R.A.R.O.’s network (about 20+ ateliers)
Mentorship and advising by the R.A.R.O. team
Studio visits, tours of public and private collections, field trips, talks, and portfolio review sessions (“clínicas de obra”)
For Macro-Residencies: a final exhibition during the last week, plus curatorial support.
What the Applicant Must Cover
Travel (e.g., airfare) is not included in full grants.
Accommodation may also not be covered depending on the grant.
Materials, living costs, etc., unless otherwise specified probably fall on the resident (not explicitly covered in call).
Duration
Macro-Residency: ~5–6 weeks — ~4 weeks in ateliers + 1 week for exhibition.
Micro-Residency: Flexible, any time of year, duration depending on studio availability.
Micro-Residency “A Isla”: Short, reflective stay in outskirts of Bogotá (structure includes silence, writing, territorial exploration, etc.)
Deadline
4th Edition (Jan 28 – Mar 11, 2026): applications due 15 December 2025.
5th Edition (Jul 15 – Aug 26, 2026): applications due 5 June 2026.
Micro-Residencies: applications accepted year-round.
Other Notes
Scholarships (full or partial) may be available.
Applicants must submit: personal info, CV, artist statement, project proposal (max 300 words), selection of ateliers from R.A.R.O’s network and how they relate to the project, work samples, and (if applying for scholarship) a letter of intent.
The program is self-managed and distributed across a network of local artist studios, not in a single physical space.
