RP Drawing Prize: Revealing the Human

Open to
Artists, designers, and makers aged 18 and over, both amateur and professional, based in the UK and internationally. Open to work in any two-dimensional medium that can be considered a drawing. Submitted work must have been completed within the last three years.

Application Fee

  • £20 per work (standard entry)

  • £12 per work for artists aged 35 or under (proof of age required)

  • Maximum of three works may be submitted.

What's Provided

  • Opportunity to exhibit as one of up to 120 selected works at the University of Hull Art Gallery.

  • Opportunity to have exhibited works available for sale.

  • Online exhibition catalogue and dedicated sales platform.

  • Main prize of £5,000.

  • Additional awards including:

    • The De Laszlo Foundation Award (£1,000 for an artist aged 35 or under)

    • The Daler-Rowney Prize (£500 worth of artist materials)

    • The Almenara Collection Award (artist residency in Spain)

What the Artist/Applicant Must Cover

  • Submission fee.

  • Delivery of selected work to the exhibition venue.

  • Shipping costs and insurance (including international deliveries).

  • Artists are responsible for insuring their own work throughout the exhibition period.

Exhibition: 18 September – 18 October 2026.

Deadline
28 July 2026, 5:00 pm BST.

Other Essential Notes

  • Maximum artwork size: 1.8 m on the longest side.

  • Works for sale must have a minimum sale price of £300 and prices must include 30% + VAT commission. Works may also be marked as not for sale.

  • Selected works must be available for sale from 2 September to 10 December 2026.
