Silver Lake Shorts Fellowship

Filmmakers who meet the following criteria:
Must be living in California (preferably Los Angeles)
Must be legally able to work in the U.S.
Must not be enrolled in any academic institution
Must be at least 18 years old
Must have at least one completed film to show
Project must be an independent animated or live action short film
Project must be completed within one year
Application Fee
None
What’s Provided
$5,000 production grant (sole funding source for the project)
Industry mentorship from pre-production through post-production
Screening support and help with festival submissions
Connections to industry partners and visibility via Silver Lake Shorts network
What the Artist/Applicant Must Cover
Full project execution within the $5,000 budget
Film must be 1–5 minutes in length
Film must be completed within 12 months of funding
Duration
Film production: 1 year from date of receiving funds
Deadline
September 15, 2024 at midnight
Essential Notes
Narrative shorts are preferred, including narrative music videos
Shorts with mature themes or family-friendly content are both welcome
Applicants will go through an interview phase with the Silver Lake Shorts team
