Skowhegan’s 2027 Program

Open to
Emerging artists from around the world working across all artistic disciplines. Approximately 60–65 participants are selected annually.
Application Fee
$25 USD. The fee increases to $50 USD during the final two days of the application period. The fee is non-refundable.
What’s Provided
Nine-week residential summer program
Private studio and 24-hour access to artistic facilities
Workshops, seminars, lectures, reading groups, and studio visits
Lodging and daily meals included through tuition
Need-blind admissions with scholarship support available; historically, more than 95% of participants have received full tuition scholarships

Application fee
Tuition contribution based on financial ability (financial need does not affect admission)
Health insurance during the program
International participants are responsible for obtaining visas, with support documentation provided upon request
Duration
June 5 – August 7, 2027 (9 weeks). Full attendance is mandatory.

Essential Notes
Applications are submitted online and require 10 images or up to 6 minutes of video/audio work, brief contextual descriptions, two references, and a short introductory video. CVs, recommendation letters, and project proposals are not required.
