Small Works Art Prize 2027
Location: Brunswick Street Gallery, Fitzroy, Victoria, Australia
Open to: Living artists over 16 years old, residing in Australia or internationally. Artists at all experience levels, from emerging to established, are eligible.
Application Fee: AUD $60 per artwork entered. A maximum of 10 artworks may be submitted per entrant.
What’s Provided:
Exhibition of all eligible entries at Brunswick Street Gallery from January 9–23, 2027.
Total prize pool of over AUD $15,000.
First Prize: AUD $5,000 cash (non-acquisitive).
Second Prize: AUD $2,000 cash (non-acquisitive).
Third Prize: AUD $1,000 cash (non-acquisitive).
Two solo exhibition prize packages valued at AUD $2,000 each.
Additional awards, including a one-year Craft Makers Membership, an advertisement in Art Guide Australia, framing services, studio passes, and art materials vouchers.
Opportunity to make artworks available for sale during the exhibition.
What the Artist Must Cover:
Entry fees for each submitted artwork.
Delivery and collection arrangements for submitted artworks.
A 30% commission, including GST, applies to artwork sales.
Duration: Exhibition dates: January 9–23, 2027.
Deadline: November 15, 2026, at 11:59 PM.
Additional Notes:
Works in any two-dimensional or three-dimensional medium are accepted.
Artworks must not exceed 35 × 35 × 35 cm, including frames and display apparatus. An unframed, standard 14-inch pre-stretched canvas measuring 35.56 cm is the only stated exception.
Artworks must have been created within the past five years.
All submitted works must be suitable for secure wall or plinth display, and copyright must belong to the artist.
All eligible submitted artworks will be exhibited.
The entry fee is non-refundable.
A catalogue is not available. Installation images of the exhibition will be published online.
