What’s Provided
The selected proposal will receive a maximum budget of €100,000 (+ VAT). The budget covers conceptualisation, design, artist fees, technical development, production, installation, maintenance, and documentation. It also includes travel, accommodation, insurance, and other costs required for the delivery and exhibition of the project.
The selected installation will be presented at KNOWCASE, a street-level showcase at Fundación Cotec’s headquarters in Madrid, visible from the street 24 hours a day.
What the Artist/Applicant Must Cover
The €100,000 (+ VAT) budget must cover all costs associated with the project, including conceptualisation, design, development, production, installation, maintenance, documentation, artist fees, travel, accommodation, and insurance.
Applicants must submit a single PDF of up to 15 pages, excluding the cover and index, containing an executive summary, conceptual statement, technical proposal, visual material, preliminary budget, timeline, team and portfolio information, and a signed declaration of responsibility.
Duration
The installation must be viable for a minimum exhibition period of 24 months. The exhibition period may extend to a maximum of 36 months, with possible extensions to be agreed with the selected artist.
Production and installation: November 2026 – February 2027.

Other Essential Notes
Proposals must be original, new, and previously unexhibited digital-culture projects combining knowledge, research, science, and data with art, technology, and social impact. Projects should include participatory and interactive elements and encourage critical thinking and reflection.
Proposals may be submitted in any official language of Spain or in English.
The intellectual property of submitted proposals remains with their authors. The selected proposal will grant Fundación Cotec exploitation rights over the knowledge, content, results, and materials generated within the funded project, while authorship will be acknowledged.
The application must be submitted through the designated application portal. Applications sent by email or through external file-transfer links will not be accepted.
