$3 USD per submission

What’s Provided
Publication in The Brooklyn Review (print and/or digital)
Two complimentary copies for contributors published in the print edition
Authors retain copyright while granting first publication rights to the magazine.

Duration
Two annual reading periods:
February 1–28
September 1–30
Deadline
30 September 2026 (Fall reading period).
Essential Notes
Only one submission per category during each reading period.
Fiction: typically 2,000–7,000 words.
Essays: up to 3,500 words.
Poetry: 3–5 poems, maximum 10 pages, in one document.
Visual Art: 1–5 images submitted as a single PDF for initial review.
