The Hopper Prize Artist Grants – Fall 2026

Artists aged 18 and older worldwide, at all career stages, working in any visual art medium. Collaborative teams are also eligible. Sound-based art is not accepted.

Application Fee

$40 (non-refundable).

What’s Provided

• Two grants of $4,500 each.

• Four grants of $1,000 each.

• Up to 30 artists selected from each grant cycle will have their work, biography, and personal website links archived on the Hopper Prize website.

• Selected artists may receive additional exposure through the Hopper Prize Instagram and online journal.

• Grant funds are unrestricted and may be used for any purpose.

What the Artist Must Cover

The applicant must pay the $40 non-refundable application fee and submit the application online. Applicants may submit up to 10 images or video attachments, artwork captions, and optional artist statements and biographies.

Additional Notes

The Hopper Prize awards grants twice annually through open calls. Winners are selected based on the quality of their work. Grant recipients retain copyright to their submitted work, while accepting a grant or being selected as a finalist grants the Hopper Prize permission to reproduce the submitted artwork on its website and digital materials.
