Thinking Photography & Writing Photography Awards

Researchers, scholars, critics, journalists, and writers worldwide submitting photography-related works in German or English. Eligible submissions include master's theses, diploma theses, doctoral dissertations, independent research publications, essays, criticism, reviews, blog posts, columns, and other innovative publication formats produced or published from November 2024 onwards.

What's Provided

• Thinking Photography. DGPh Research Award: €3,000

• Writing Photography. DGPh Award for Innovative Publication: €1,000

• Selection by an international jury

• Award ceremony held during a public event in 2027

What the Applicant Must Cover

Applicants must submit:

• An English abstract (approx. 3,500 characters)

• The complete manuscript in German or English

• Curriculum vitae

• Optional list of previous publications

Essential Notes
