transmediale Open Calls for Residents 2027

Applications are invited through three residency programmes with different eligibility requirements:

  • Digital Art Residency (with Pro Helvetia): 1 Swiss or Switzerland-based artist.

  • transmediale x ARKO Residency: 1 Korean artist, based in Korea or elsewhere.

  • Vilém Flusser Residency for Artistic Research: 1 artist based in Berlin.

What the Applicant Must Cover

  • Housing in Berlin must be self-organised (with additional housing support provided).

Duration

  • Two-month hybrid residency between mid-May and mid-July 2027.

  • On-site residency takes place during June 2027, and presence in Berlin for the entire month of June is mandatory.

  • Residency begins with a kick-off during the transmediale 2027 festival in January (attendance recommended).
